The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. Well-established Finnish post-folk metal with a talented lady musician behind the concept, with devilish goth look, the voice of an angel and the growls of a demon. Really love the contrasting duality ever present here, it's so different than a "typical" folk band. This is still very special, and the atmosphere created by Vermilia is not the classic Finnish extreme metal, but still a captivating and immersive sound. This is an incredibly impressive album !!
